San Miguel Corporation (SMC) was named "Top Employer of the Year" at the 2021 Asia CEO Awards - besting other major conglomerates in the country.
In a Facebook post, Ramon Ang said, "Thank you to the 2021 Asia CEO Awards for recognizing San Miguel Corporation as the Top Employer of the Year. For us, being a good employer means going beyond providing people a safe and productive working environment, good benefits and growth opportunities. Helping our employees live their purpose at work and enabling them to contribute to our broader, nobler goal of nation-building is equally important. To our San Miguel family, I cannot thank you enough for all that you do for your company in good and bad times. Para sa inyo po ito."
"As one of the largest companies in the Philippines, we know we have a responsibility to use our resources to help rebuild lives and our economy, better. Despite the uncertainties, we keep pushing to help our country recover," SMC president Ramon Ang said in a video message.
Ang also said he dedicates the award to the employees of SMC and its various subsidiaries, who have been working hard despite the continued threat of COVID-19.
SMC's Ligtas Lahat vaccination task force has so far been able to vaccinate 90% of the company's employees and extended workforce in the entire country. The company is seeking to complete the vaccination program by November.
